About the project

People's brains are different and there is no such thing as "normal"

We perceive the same content differently. In our everyday lives, however, we are increasingly dependent on information from the digital world and have to interact with media and user interfaces.

Accessibility has long been an important topic here. However, the focus here is mainly on physical limitations. This work deals with the clarification of cognitive barriers of people with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) who are burdened with prejudices when dealing with digital interfaces such as websites, apps and software.

The website

An informative web application is being created for this purpose. "mindfriendly" is designed to educate people about the different cognitive needs of people with ADHD when using digital interfaces and to provide concrete suggestions and design patterns for resolving barriers in user experience design. mindfriendly is intended to convey the idea that cognitive accessibility is "friendly" for all brains in the spirit of neurodiversity.

Accessibility should be considered from the outset of digital projects. This means that digital designs not only fulfill the new legal requirements but also increase conversion rates and thus the success of the application.

This Website was created by Raphael Frühauf as final project of the Interactive Media program at University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, July 2024.
